If immigration were free, people would opt to pay taxes to governments of their choice and, in quick time, predatory states, tyrants, rogue dictators and the like
would have no taxpayers left. They would be out of business without any ‘global cop’.
To the free man, the country is the collection of individuals who compose it, not something over and above them. He is proud of a common heritage and loyal to common traditions.
